Hiring Heroes Breakfast Seminar
With more than 12 million military veterans in the U.S. today and more than 200,000 leaving the military and entering the civilian workforce each year, veterans remain one of the best sources for skilled, experienced talent in the marketplace. This course will provide a solid foundation on which to build your company's veteran recruitment strategy. Whether you currently have a plan in place to recruit veterans, or if you're just getting started recruiting veterans, this seminar will give you the tools and strategies necessary to position your company as an employer of choice for veterans. Here you'll gain an understanding of veterans' skills and how they translate to your roles, information on how to effectively source veteran talent, and how to ensure cultural fit - all of which will help your company hire more heroes.

Guns N' Hoses 5K
There's a little spin on this 5K: when runners sign up they will either choose Team Police or Team Fire and recieve a blue (police) or red (fire) shirt to wear during the run. The team with the most money raised will have their team name placed on the Guns N' Hoses 5K plaque that will be on display at the Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union for everyone to see.
Benificiary - SAFE program was started by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission in 2003 to provide immediate financial support to surviving families of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics who lose their life in the line of duty.
