KANSAS CITY, Missouri – March 22, 2018 – Backed by a
tradition of providing successful airport projects for more than six decades,
Garver is proud to have been selected as part of a team that will deliver a new
single terminal to the Kansas City International Airport.
Garver, with two local offices in the Kansas City, Missouri
area, has joined the team headed by Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate,
and will lead airside civil planning and design services for the project.
Garver’s role also includes design of the terminal apron, airfield lighting
systems, aircraft deicing system, airfield drainage system, ground support
equipment staging areas, aircraft deicing fluid blending and distribution
system, and glycol-contaminated runoff storage and discharge facilities.
“We have more than 20 employees in our Kansas City metro
offices dedicated to the success of this project partly because many of them
are from the area and know the importance of a thriving KCI,” said Garver
Aviation Team Leader Mark Williams. “We’re honored to be one of more than a dozen
local firms who will deliver a successful terminal project to the citizens of
Kansas City and the region.”
Garver has provided aviation design services since the
1950s, but this project, the largest infrastructure project in the city’s
history, will mark the largest since Garver opened its Kansas City metro
offices in 2013.
While this is Garver’s first civil airside design project at
KCI, it has a long-standing tradition of delivering a variety of airside and
electrical projects to major airports, such as Nashville International Airport,
Dallas Love Field, the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little
Rock, Arkansas, and the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
