Leadership Development Series

In partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center,  OMNI Human Resource Management presents our Leadership Development  Series. This program series provides engaging teaching methods  facilitated by Ron Alexander, Kansas Leadership Center faculty, that are designed to equip professional executives with proven leadership skills.

Program Dates: September 26 / October 25 / December 6 / January 10 / February 7

Cost: $750 total (includes all five sessions)

Location: All sessions will take place in the Sprint Board Room at the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, located at 9001 W 110th St, Suite 150, Overland Park, KS 66210, in Corporate Woods.

Session 1 Overview:

Utilizing a personal leadership dilemma as the context, this session is designed to introduce participants to the framework of the Kansas Leadership Center, with special emphasis on understanding the nature of the work.

Pre-work:

During this program, you will make use of a personal leadership challenge as a way to apply the leadership concepts being presented.  The challenge may be connected to your professional, personal, volunteer or civic roles.  It should be a challenge for which you are genuinely open to alternative possibilities concerning your roles or responsibilities; and one which would make your life significantly better if progress could be made.  In preparation for the first session, please identify a challenge.  It may help you to consider the following questions.  It will be helpful to you if you answer these questions in writing.  Keep your answers brief.  The pre-work will probably be approximately one page in length.

  • Characterize the problem or opportunity from your perspective.
  • Who are the major players and what are their major interests?
  • Describe as concretely as possible the actions you have taken to address the challenge.

You will share as much or as little of this dilemma as you choose. You will NOT be asked to share your written document.

Book: Participants in this program should purchase the Kansas Leadership Center’s Your Leadership Edge: Lead Anytime, Anywhere. The book may be purchased at the following link: https://www.watermarkbooks.com/book/9780988977754

Presenter: Ron Alexander is a member of the core faculty of the Kansas Leadership Center and the President of R.E. Alexander and Associates, LLC. Understanding the GSA Schedule Process

Many federal agencies utilize General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule contracts to obtain needed goods and services in lieu of contracting on their own. For vendors, a GSA Schedule contract is an excellent marketing tool. However, obtaining a Schedule is an intricate process.

In this training event, Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will address and explain many of the challenges businesses face when deciding whether they should seek a GSA Schedule contract. Topics covered will include a brief overview of the GSA mission, getting a “GSA Number,” why federal agencies use (and don’t use) GSA Schedules, the pros and cons of the GSA Schedule contracts, and much more. The presenter will discuss issues that businesses should consider before taking the “schedule plunge.”

Seating is limited for this program.
